Buttery oatmeal prawns recipe!!!!

Some of you may have seen pictures of this dish being posted on facebook…and yeah and now I’m going to share this recipe with you. This is a recipe I found on the internet and actually I combine a few recipes to perfect the original recipe. So, here it is!

Ingredients

Prawns (leave the shells intact!)
Butter
Curry leaves
Salt (a few teaspoon)
Sugar (subject to individual preference)
Oats (150-200g)
Bird’s eye chillies (cili padi)–optional
Starch

STEP 1: Sprinkle some starch onto the cleaned prawns and mix well. This is to add that extra crispiness to the prawns when fried.

STEP 2: Heat up frying pan or wok, make sure it is hot enough. Add in the oats and fry till golden brown. Set aside. (remember not to add in oil for this!)

STEP 3: Pour in cooking oil, and deep fry the cleaned prawns until all is cooked and had turned golden brown. Set aside.

STEP 4: Heat up pan or wok again and put in some butter (preferably 100-150g for that extra buttery taste) and melt it. Then add in curry leaves and chillies. Stir fry until fragrant. Add salt and sugar to taste.

STEP 5: Add in the pre-fried oats and stir fry until everything blends well. Add the prawns and stir fry until fragrant. And you are ready to serve this delicious dish!!!!

Comments: As this is my first time cooking this dish, I was quite worried that it might turn out to be the other way round. But lucky for me, everyone praised me for this heavenly dish 🙂 hehe

Verdict: It’s simple and fuss-free! Except for the fact that when I was frying the prawns, the oil is splattering everywhere, so take caution! Otherwise, it is finger-licking good dish that everyone adores and drools over!

Cooking duration: 20-25 minutes
